Orange peel fabric is an innovative, eco friendly textile made from the discarded peels of oranges. Instead of letting citrus waste go to landfill, advanced technology transforms these peels into a luxurious, silky fibre that is then spun into beautiful fabric.

The result is a lightweight material with a smooth, elegant feel (similar to silk), bringing together natural ingredients and cutting edge sustainability to create a truly modern textile.

Beyond its sustainable credentials, orange peel fabric is a fabulous choice for fashion. It is soft, breathable, comfortable against the skin and can retain small amounts of natural citrus oils, which may provide skincare benefits.

Our orange peel fabric is made from a blend of 60 percent orange fibres and 40 percent cotton (the added cotton gives this fabric strength, durability, stability and makes it more affordable).

This fabric has a light and soft handle with a subtle crepe weave. At 70 grams per square metre, it is classed as a light weight fabric and is slightly sheer. It may require lining, depending on what style you chose to sew and your personal preferences. This fabric is the perfect choice for sewing tops, blouses, cover ups, robes, skirts and dresses.

We recommend sewing this fabric with a new fine universal needle for best results.

This fabric is POD (printed on demand), so please allow extra time for delivery. Once you place an order for POD fabric, our team will carefully print your chosen design, on your chosen base cloth, to your chosen size, with care. We pride ourselves on quality of materials, quality of printing and fast turnaround.

Because your fabric is made to order specially for you, please allow approximately 2-6 weeks for despatch of your order that contain POD fabric, however our turnaround is often much quicker. Please note this is only an estimate and to allow extra time during peak times.

If you are ordering other items at the same time and need those urgently, please place a separate order and those can be despatched from the Minerva warehouse with our usual speedy turnaround.

Please note, with print on demand fabrics, each individual order is its very own print lot. Identical to the concept of dye lots, this means it is highly advisable to order enough digitally printed fabric to complete your project at one time, to ensure all your fabric arrives from the same print lot. If two or more separate orders are placed, the fabric may vary.
