A fantastic quality chlorine resistant activewear fabric from the Minerva Core Range collection. Activewear is a very stretchy knit fabric that stretches in all directions and has fantastic recovery, which means it pings back into shape after it is stretched. Our swimwear activewear fabric is chlorine resistant which means it will stand up to chlorine in swimming pools and stand the test of time. This fabric weighs approx. 185gsm which puts it into our medium weight category here at Minerva. It is made from a blend of 85% polyester and 15% elastane fibres which give this fabric its fantastic four way stretch. It is ideal for making swimming costumes and bikinis but can also be used for sewing sportswear such as leggings, bra tops, leotards and unitards. It can also be used to sew tops and bodycon styles for your everyday wardrobe.

  • Suggested Washing Instructions: 30 degrees. Please allow 10% shrinkage for all fabrics to be on the safe side and always test a sample first to find the most suitable way to wash your chosen fabrics.
  • For all fabrics we advise washing before making up in the same manner as you would with subsequent washes (including drying methods) to remove any shrinkage.

  • This item is sold per yard. The minimum amount you can order is half a yard (0.5) and thereafter you can order in quarter yard increments i.e. 1.25 yards, 1.5 yards, 1.75 yards etc
  • Our fabrics are cut from the roll and, where possible, supplied in one continuous length. If we’re unable to send your fabric in a single piece, we’ll contact you. However, if your order consists of multiple pieces that are all over 5 metres long, these will be dispatched as separate pieces to ensure speedy delivery.
  • If you are unsure about a fabric or are looking for a specific colour, we always advise to order a sample first for personal evaluation of suitability. The size of our samples depend on the cost of the fabric and will measure either approximately a 10cm strip or a 50cm strip cut off the roll at full width, so they are ideal for assessing weight, stretch, feel, drape, colour, texture and more. Please note, samples are non-returnable.
