I really, really like the finished top. This is the Wrap Top Vondel by Halfmoon Atlier in the Bonito fabric print in the Modal Challis. The fabric paired with the sewing pattern was a really fun combination. As I made a skirt with one of the Minerva\Melissa Lowry collaborations, I may wear both the wrap top with the skirt together as well.

I ended up adding a few areas to hand stitch for this project. When I was applying the binding along the neckline, I accidently missed a portion of the seam. I went back and hand stitched this area, to finish by hand. I also decided to handstitch the end of the ties. I’ve machine stitched the end of ties in the past, but I find they’re as so small, a machine stitch rarely finishes this detail as nicely as I’d prefer.

I didn’t add a snap yet at the overlap in the “V”, but I’d like to add one to the top as well. When I sew a new garment, I like to wear it a few times first after I make it to see where I’d like to place the snap.

I really like the top but I’m curious if I would wear the dress version even more than the top version. I really enjoy wearing dresses, year round. I might consider adding the skirt portion to this top to convert it to a dress. I’m not sure that I have enough fabric from the scraps leftover so I could use an alternate fabric to add a contrasting skirt portion. I'll mull that thought over a bit and will share if this top gets an update in the future.

I really enjoy this fabric print. The top was fun to make and I love the finishing details. Have you made any wrap top or dress patterns that you’ve also enjoyed as well?
