Minerva exclusive Pippa top

Minerva core range medium viscose jersey stretch knit fabric Soft Blue

This blue viscose jersey is a gorgeous colour and is one of 49 to choose from. It's medium weight 200gsm and is OEKO-TEX meaning earth friendly. Width is 147cm and has width stretch of 55% and lengthwise 30%. It is 96% viscose and 4% elastane. It has good stretch and recovery, not too much length stretch which i think is good so it doesn't pull down.

I washed in the machine at 30 degrees, line dried and ironed on warm. It's a little more fiddly than cotton jersey to deal with but worth it for it's drape. And drape is important for what I had in mind.

The new minerva exclusive pattern, the Pippa top made it's way to me after admiring all the lovely pippas that the makers had made and modelled.

As usual a well thought out pattern by the minerva team with great instructions, comprehensive booklet and minerva label. I loved the little poof sewn into the top of the shoulder, something I'll use again with other makes. The neck facings and back neck binding make for a tidy finish. Theres quite a bit of gathering to do and using a fine jersey meant there isn't bulk at the empire line. The sleeves have a nice bit of gathering at the shoulder top and the 3/4 sleeve is finished with an elastic casing. The bodice has 3 or 4 buttons with buttonholes, I chose to sew the buttons straight through as I could get the top on easily.

I sent my partner into a button shop to choose buttons, I think he did very well!!

I love my pippa, nice casual style with slim jeans.
