I’ve now finished the Minerva exclusive pattern, the Savannah dress in the fuchsia pink striped cotton jersey fabric.
It’s the first time I’ve used a Minerva pattern and I have to say it was very straightforward and easy to make.
The pattern comes in 20 sizes and has a QR code to access a video giving step by step instructions. It comes with an A4 size booklet of sewing instructions, which are very clear, lovely diagrams and very easy to follow instructions.
Marking the dots and notches on the fabric is essential as they are crucial in getting the princess line seam and front pockets to lie flat and smooth.
I decided to topstitch my princess line seams to add a neat feature to the striped detailing. I added the Minerva label to the back of the dress again as a feature!
The jersey striped fabric is one I have used before and it is a great stable quality jersey knit; it washes beautifully and wears well.
Overall, I’m very pleased with my dress and when I showed my daughter she said… ‘Ooooh it’s lovely…I want one!’ I will be choosing something a little different for her dress, but I’m looking forward to making it again
