Hello again! I’m sharing today about the final Cinema dress by Liesl and Co with a dreamy linen fabric from Minerva.
I LOVE the finished dress! It is so comfortable and I’m so glad I went with the longer length. I don’t have dresses at this midi length. I wanted to share the light shining through the fabric in the photo, to see the lightweight element. I highly recommend this pattern!
Unique features: I love that the bust shaping is in the curve of the yoke/side panels rather than in a traditional bust dart. It’s really flattering and seamless.
I enjoyed the pockets being incorporated in the center panel rather than in the side seams. It’s another surprise feature that makes the finished dress really special.
I decided to hand tack the sleeve cuffs in place for a seamless finish. The sleeve length is a ¾ sleeve on me. Because I graded up in the sleeve (past the underarm), I can fold up the sleeve cuff a few times to also wear the sleeve shorter.
I love that the front and back yokes in this dress offer so many options to customize! I intentionally omitted the buttons in the back as I didn’t need them to get the dress on and off (with the V feature in the front). I think it would be quite fun to stitch embroidery in the front yoke or stitch a Sashiko pattern as well.
Have you made the Cinema dress yet? Thank you so much for reading about my first Cinema dress.
