Pattern Description: Sew Over It Kitty Dress. Chic, classic and wearable whether you’re at the shops or a wedding, the Kitty Dress is a button-down shirt dress with a huge variety of options. (Last time we counted there were ten!) With a vintage nod, all versions are feminine, fitted through the waist and oh so flattering. Pattern Sizing: UK 8-20. I made version 4 with the gathered skirt in a size 8, grading to a 10 at the waist. Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, Sew Over It has clear, detailed instructions with diagrams. No issues. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Likes: I really love that you get so many different views in one pattern. You can make several different shirtdresses and even 2 skirts. It's great value. Dislikes: I wish that the pattern was in their extended size range. Fabric Used: 100% Cotton Poplin Fabric White, 3m for the outer dress Minerva Core Range 100% Cotton Lawn Fabric White, 2.5m for the lining Changes/alterations: I did not originally intend to line the dress but when the cherry fabric arrived it was a bit too sheer to wear on its own. Luckily I had ordered the white lawn fabric too which was perfect for lining the dress. The bodice, waistband, skirt are lined and the sleeves are unlined. I kept the original facings just to make my life a little easier. Technically this is a combo of lining/interlining. I did a small bust adjustment, broad back adjustment, graded to a larger size at the waist, and lengthened the skirt 4 inches to make it ankle length on me. The shoulder point is slightly too long on me (wish that they had a size 6!) but I don't think it looks too bad. Would you sew it again? There are so many views on this pattern that I would love to make another. I'd like to try the sleeveless version with paneled skirt eventually. Conclusion: This dress takes quite a bit of fabric and because I lined it, it also was not a quick sew. but the results stand for themselves. The dress is absolutely stunning in my opinion and so fun in the cherry print. i cannot wait for the weather to warm up so I can wear it properly. #minervamakes #minervamakers #minervabrandambassador #minervacorerange #indiesewingpattern #sewoverit #soikittydress #summerdress #sewnshownseated #sewnshownseatedkitty #springsewing #shirtdress #dresswithpockets
