I love the finished Zadie! The crepe is so comfortable to wear (#secretpajamas). I love that a jumpsuit, like a dress, is an all in one piece. You can throw it on and head out the door, ready to go.

A few things I would do differently next time:
This was my first time using a drapey fabric with the Zadie. Although it’s very comfortable to wear, the fabric hangs differently than a more stable base like the last linen/viscose version that I made. If I was making a Zadie again in a similar drape fabric, I would lower the crotch height a bit more.

I decided to cut off the right side of the belt by approximately 16”. I’m going to mark the pattern so I remember this for the future.

I’m finding with each Zadie, a standard mod that I do is to add a snap to the crossover in the front of the top portion. If I don’t add this step, I signed with movement, and where the wrap opens up and shows my bra. That’s not the look I’m going for. I thought this was interesting, especially remembering that I added 3/4 of an inch to make this area wider than the pattern was originally made. I could add more width to this area in the future for even more coverage.

One new mod that I did with this Zadie is that I added a small stitch line over crotch area. I found as I wore this Zadie, the crotch area would bubble open as I sat down. Part of that may be the drapier fabric. I’ve read about others making this mod and it was an easy fix!

Another mod I made was to add a gather at the top of the pocket. The pocket bag becomes the side seam of the top of the pants. If you’re off on the placement of the pocket bag, it shows up as you add the bodice to the top seam of the pants. This is my third Zadie, mind you, but I have to confess that I made this error. So I added a gather to hide the extra fabric in the pocket seam. I made the same mistake on both pockets, so the gathers are symmetrical.

This is quite a cozy Zadie to wear. I haven’t gotten into layering cardigans or sweaters yet with this version, but I love that idea to layer up this fall. This fabric being a solid, will be a great canvas for accessories as well.
