Loving the blues and pinks of the Animal Glow print in the Minerva Exclusives range, I went to try out a piece of the knit version!
Perfect for layup in the autumn months I chose the 'Grab a Cuppa Cardi' by Pattern Emporium. It's oversize style and the gathered cuffs were very appealing and definitely a nice touch.
The fabric is a poly-elastane so it is white on the inside as you can see. It's fairly thin rather than a 'fuzzy sweater' fabric however it's surprisingly quite warm!!
It cut and sewed really well and went through the overlocker without issue even on some of the tougher areas like the 3 layer cuffs.
The pattern measurements put me in a size 18 (which spans a 41-43 bust, 35-37 waist and 45-47 hip) - despite being in this size range, and the fact it is supposed to be over-sized in style - I think it is a bit tooo big.
I don't think there is a finished measurement chart so I can't compare that but next time, and I will make it again as it's a great pattern, I would definitely go down a size or two.
The pattern should also have pockets and you can add buttons down the front however I omitted buttons as the front overlapped so much I would never wear it like that. More blanket potentially for wrapping it around myself!
The sleeves gathered into the cuff are a great little feature of this pattern which I really enjoy.
Super pattern and some really bright fabric to cheer the darker days!
