When I got this fabric, I knew right away it would be good for a nightgown/night shirt. It's a lightweight cotton that softens when it's washed. I have seen this pattern before and decided this would be the perfect time to sew this up.
The pattern I used is Sewing And The City Lexington Nightdress. This is a pajama set where you can make a pj short set with short sleeves, pjs with long pants and a long sleeve top, or this option - the nightdress/nightshirt. The pattern is designed for woven fabrics. Rather than just using a cotton fabric, one could also sew this in silk for a really luxurious set of loungewear.
I love the design of this particular fabric because it's called "Philosophers Dreams". As you can see from the close up photo, it features different quotes from various philosophers. What better way to fall asleep!
The pattern is an easy make and goes together quickly. I made this in a size based on my measurements and made no design changes. The only thing I did a little differently was to take the last button at the bottom and move it to the top. Easy peasy!
