A couple years ago, just after having purchased the True Bias Roscoe pattern, the Friday Patterns Company Wilder Gown was released and it was AMAZING. The gathered, ruffled neckline, the flowing tiers... but then I started thinking of the things I preferred about the Roscoe--the gathered sleeves! The fact that I already owned it and had it all printed out and taped together and traced!--and I decided to just hack my Roscoe into a Wilder look-alike neckline. I made it in black linen (see the black version and how I made the changes here: https://alliemjackson.com/2019/08/a-wilder-roscoe-true-bias-roscoe-dress.html) and have worn that dress a million times since then. This one, although the same pattern, could not be more different, thanks to the incredible fabric from Minerva!

This is a nylon burnout woven from John Kaldor and it is absolutely perfect for this pattern, if I do say so myself. It has enough body that it was a breeze to sew and gives the neckline some oomph instead of flopping over, but enough drape to look floaty rather than tent-like. I'm totally in love with this dress and felt great wearing it, even if it was just around my parents' neighborhood!
