I had an idea in my head for the Sagebrush Top by Friday Pattern Company. I have a beautiful Minerva fabric, Camelot Poplin in Ruby and I wanted to do a bit of embellishing on this fabric. Now I didn't want to do lots of embellishment, just a bit on the front yoke. My embellishment is adding a decorative stitch on the diagonal. The steps for my embellished yoke.
1. Trace the pattern piece on your fabric and cut it a bit larger, the embellishing might draw your fabric up a bit.
2. Mark diagonal lines on your fabric on the 45 degree.
3. I used scrap fabric to decide which decorative stitch to use
4. Start stitching on the fabric and I did use stabilizer
5. Remove the stabilizer and cut your embellished piece to the pattern size.
6. Enjoy your embellished piece and completing your garment.
