HI everyone!

I’m really excited to share my latest Minerva Brand Ambassador make with you all.

For a while now I’ve wanted to focus a little more on updating the basics in my wardrobe and in particular, that most overlooked, most neglected section (in my house anyway) nightwear.

I love Art Gallery fabrics and prints and I find the quality of their fabrics to always be amazing so I ordered this Art Gallery viscose jersey originally planning to make a t shirt with it but, since there was so much of this fabric even with just 1.5 metres (it’s very wide), I decided a new pair of pyjamas might be a better use for it.

For my PJs I used the Tabitha T Shirt pattern from the Tilly and the Buttons book Make It Simple and followed the instructions in the same book for drafting a pair of pyjama shorts using another of the patterns.

As always, I pre-washed my fabric before starting and cut out all of my pieces with my rotary cutter, pattern weights and cutting board. I find this the easiest method for cutting jersey for me.

Both of the Pyjama garments were super quick to make. For this Tabitha T Shirt I did widen the neckline slightly because, having made previous Tabitha’s I know that the neckline does come up quite high so I wanted to be sure they would be comfy enough to wear in bed. I’m not a fan of anything too high on my neck! The T shirt does come up quite long, I probably could have cropped it for PJs but at least it’s a good length for tucking in on chillier nights.

If the top was quick to make the bottoms were even speedier. They came together so quickly and I really enjoyed this sew. The first time I’ve ever made jersey Pyjama shorts and I can see many more pairs of these being made in the future. A great scrap buster!

This fabric is super soft and has a lovely drape to it so feels really comfy to wear at night-time. I sewed the majority of this set on my overlocker just topstitching the neckline and hems on my sewing machine and the fabric handled beautifully.

I love the subtle grey print on this otherwise plain jersey. Have you ever made jersey PJs? I think I’m hooked…

Lots of love
Sally xx
