The last two tips I have is on zippers - once shortened, cover the end with some fabric to help it not poke the wearer and look nicer from the inside.
And zipper installation is ALWAYS, always easier when it has been hand basted in. I have said some colorful words many times, in the past, when I didn’t take time to hand baste the zipper. So do yourself a favor!
I’m very pleased with how it turned out. The ombre is exactly how I had imagined it. But most importantly, my daughter loves the dress and twirl. I have to agree with her!
Thanks to Minerva for this lovely fabric; I’m hooked on fabric dying! Have you given it a try? If not, don’t be afraid to. It can really help showcase a fabric like this one.
Thanks for reading, until my next make here on Minerva, keep on sewing!
