A while back I shared my Chantli Quilt (Pattern by Jess Poemape) that I made using some Art Gallery Lower the Volume cotton poplin in Simple Growth for the background. I had some of this fabric leftover from a previous project for Minerva. I was able to get all my pieces cut for the blocks, and for some of the sashing, and then ran out. I had to order more from a local shop and the color was slightly different, but I don't think its very noticeable.

The solid colors were scraps from other projects. I love making scrappy quilts. This quilt top has been in my WIP (works in progress) pile too long and I needed a backing to finish it. I received the Minerva Core Range Polycotton Sheeting Fabric in Navy and decided to try it for the backing. The sheeting is 2.6 yards wide - perfect for a quilt back that doesn't need piecing. The fabric has a soft hand and the color is beautiful. I sent the quilt to my local longarmer for quilting and picked out a silver colored thread for the quilting so that it blended in well with the quilt top and really showed off the quilting on the navy back. I then found a half yard of a beautiful navy print to use for my binding. I love that it's navy, but has a lot of the pretty colors that I used in my top. I'm going to be gifting this quilt to my Aunt this year for Christmas. I know she is going to love it.
