I got the coolest octopus fabric. It's 100% cotton and I knew it would be great for a quilt. It is 58 inches wide and I has enough leftover after my first quilt to use it in a second! I actually used scraps from two other Minerva projects in these quilt blocks. The octopus print is so fun and the bright color and bold pattern make for an interesting design. This fabric would make a cute summer shirt.
I made 12 Column Blocks. It's a free pattern from Heather Ann Dye Art. I made a king sized quilt top with these and it's currently with a longarmer for quilting. I went ahead and took individual photos of my blocks before sewing them together to make my quilt. I knew it would be too big for me to get a good photo of completed. These blocks were so fun to make! They finsh at 24 inches wide by 31 inches tall! They are great for showing off large scale prints and using up bigger scraps.
