Here’s #Scraptember pouf number one which was made to scrap-bust the mounds of leftover tiny bits of fabrics I had in bags all over the place from all the projects I’ve cut out that I couldn’t quite bring myself to consign to the bin. The pattern is the Closet Core Pouf Pattern which is a freebie from their website. I also used their piping tutorial to make the, well, piping! I used a collection of bigger scraps to make a lining bag to make it easier to empty if I ever need to to wash it.

The added bonus is that all the denim panels are from larger leftovers of sewing projects too, so a double-scrap buster:

- Olive green denim (long-gone option from Minerva) was used for a jacket.

- Dark brown is from a pair of hubby’s old jeans that were beyond repair.

- Stone grey is left over from a denim jacket (also a long-gone option from Minerva).

- Stripey black and white is a leftover from a back pack (yet another long-gone Minerva denim).

- Mid grey denim (you guessed it, a long-gone option from Minerva) was for a pinafore.

The bias binding for the piping is made from a half-metre of cotton broadcloth that I bought for a project that didn’t get used in the end and the whole thing is stuffed with bags and bags of scraps accumulated from sewing projects over the past 5+ years.

The only exception is that I used a little toy stuffing right on at the top to make that bit slightly softer than the rest of it. This has been much appreciated by one of the cats who has decided it’s hers.

It’s surprisingly dense and heavy.

One downside, however, is that it I had more scraps than space in the pouf, so I made a second which I shall add shortly.
