Summer Lounge Set
Our family will be spending a few weeks in Europe this summer and I have been working on an edited wardrobe for warm weather. I wanted a matching shorts set in a breathable fabric and wanted the separates to mix and match with other pieces I plan to pack.
This 100% linen is sturdy and medium weight. I ironed on the hottest setting on my iron before washing and drying and I find this minimizes wrinkles as much as possible on linen
I've made the Sepia Pants from Closet Core Patterns (it was a subscription-only Closet Core Crew pattern and has been released as a standalone pattern with a shorts variation) three years back in a Minerva Core Range Blades Textured Cotton Linen blend (it's posted in my makes). I love these pants for the style and the fabric is durable and comfortable to wear. I thought I would make the shorts version of this pattern in the same size as I made previously. I am 61" in height and didn't adjust the rise or the inseam of these shorts. I love the doubled front patch pockets in this pattern.
I recently made the Style Arc Bonnie sleeveless blouse so I thought I would try another sleeveless shell pattern I have in my pattern library. I made the Closet Core Patterns Azure top (also a previous Closet Core Crew subscription pattern that was released as a standalone pattern with variations for a dress, skirt or top). I made my measured size but after finishing, I released the side seams and sewed at 3/8" instead of 5/8" to allow another 1" all around the circumference. I've realized I need to make the size up in Closet Core tops and also drop the dart location by at least 3/4".
I look forward to wearing this matching linen set together and as separates on our upcoming summer trip.
