Okay, I'll admit to being kind of a convert to stretch fabrics recently, after a lifetime of insisting only on period-correct fabrics for my vintage sewing. I have started to appreciate the extra comfort and ease a small percentage of elastane can offer. This stretch linen blend fabric is so perfect for these shorts - sturdy enough to keep their shape, but very soft-feeling, and cool in the heat.

The fabric was nice and stable and lovely to sew, and the finished shorts are super comfortable. I ended up making three pairs in different colours!

The pattern is the Explorer shorts, based on a true vintage pattern from the 1940s. It's available as a digital download on my Patreon page.
