my latest #minervabrandambassador project was a bit of a bigger one - with 4m of this gorgeous POD Bobcat brushed duck cotton caramel my original idea was to make myself some dungarees, or skinny trousers and jacket.. but when the fabric arrived, i completely pivoted to make my wife and i a jacket.

i decided to hack the trusty wardrobe by me overshirt quite substantially as i love the fit and general tailored tweaks i’ve adapted.. and mimicked the look of a levi’s trucker. carefully measuring the multiple panels.. proudly, i even pulled off the welt pocket/inside pocket combo.

i finished it all off with some silver tac buttons and a kyle and the machine total babe inner label.. and i absolutely feel like a total babe wearing it.

the fabric was so nice. i really love this duck canvas. it’s got a nice weight, but not too bulky and never made me too worried about my sewing machine being able to handle multiple layers. i used a denim needle & increased my thread tension & never had any issues.

my only main concern with the canvas is that those stubborn creases were really hard to get out. luckily, being such a busy print, it was all quite hidden. it’d probably be worth giving it a good steaming next time.
