#MyFaveFabric

I have a little stash of nice dress fabrics that I've been terrified to cut into. I spend months going over designs, changing patterns, and going back and forth on the hem length. After all that work, I usually just put it back on the shelf and think about it some more.

One of those fabrics was this Minerva Exclusive viscose, which I bought over two years ago.

I knew I wanted a maxi dress with a simple skirt to show off the lovely pattern, but I couldnt settle on the neckline and back of the bodice.

The fabric is light and flowy, and in the end I decided to stick to something simple and summery.

I self-drafted the dress - a bodice with a princess line, invisible zipper at the centre back and straps with a pleat. The skirt is fit and flare, floor length when wearing flat sandals.
