I have had the Style Arc Bronte woven dress pattern on the side for several months waiting for the perfect fabric to make it up. I saw this lovely linen /cotton mix exclusive Minerva design and was lucky enough to receive it through the Ambassador programme and knew I now had the perfect fabric. I love this design. All my favourite colours. The bright jewel green amidst the brown ,cream and the more muted greens, blues and purple. The fabric is quite stiff, holds it's shape well has a looser weave than an exclusive cotton and is a medium weight. It frays but not alarmingly and is easily dealt with on the overlocker.

I washed it at 30C, dried it over the airer and then steam ironed it. I cut the pattern out mainly with the rotary cutter and sewed it with a new universal size 70 needle. The pattern is better described than many Style Arc patterns, doesn't have many pattern pieces and apart from the marking and sewing of the pleats is a very quick and easy make. I liked the method of sewing the v neck, one I will use again.

The fabric holds a press so well it really is a great match for this pattern, but I think it would also work well will something softer and drapier.

So what do I think?. I LOVE this dress. I am thrilled I have it. If I saw it in a shop I would have immediately grabbed it off the rail to try on and would have bought it. Thank you Minerva for letting me show case this fabric and I hope someone else will think it is lovely too. And get the pattern. It's great!!
