“A Polo for My Husband”

I sewed another polo shirt for my husband… and honestly, I’ve completely lost count of how many I’ve made by now 😄 One thing is certain though: he doesn’t want store-bought polos anymore. And secretly, I think that’s such a lovely compliment, don’t you?

This time, I once again chose a trusted pattern from Knipmode Men. It’s one of those designs that just works every time: comfortable, neat, and perfect for both casual and slightly more dressed-up occasions. Definitely a pattern I can keep coming back to, especially when I want to try out different fabrics.

For this polo, I used the Minerva Core Range Cotton Lycra Jersey Stretch Knit Fabric in taupe. It’s such a beautiful, neutral shade that pairs easily with anything. What really makes this fabric stand out is its composition: 95% cotton and 5% elastane. It feels soft against the skin, while the added stretch gives extra comfort—ideal for a garment like a polo shirt.

The fabric has a width of 150 cm, which is also very convenient when cutting your pattern pieces. And did you know it comes in nearly 200 different colors? Incredible, right? It makes it so much fun to mix things up and create a unique polo every time, perfectly suited to the wearer’s style.
