An outfit for spring 💐
I fell hard for the Minerva Exclusive „Going Places“ print and I wanted to make a jersey top with it. I’m very happy that the Minerva exclusive range includes a range of cotton knit fabrics now. This is the cotton lycra jersey. It’s so soft and it stretches beautifully. The print is sharp and the colours are beautifully intense and they have stayed that way after a few washes. I made the Romy top by @tammy.handmade (Instagram), it is my favourite pattern for knits. It fits so well and gives you several options for sleeves and neckline and length, from top to midi dress. This is the top with flared sleeves and scoop neckline.
The skirt is the 3070 by Simplicity. I have always wanted a long flared denim skirt so I decided to give this one a go. It’s a size 20, view B, and I added 5cm to the length. The fabric is quite a heavy denim from my stash (440g/m2) with no stretch. I love how the skirt turned out but would definitely recommend not to use fabric that is even heavier than mine. I also find the skirt runs quite big, next time I might size down, especially if using a denim with stretch.
I love this outfit very very much. I’ve worn the top so many times already and I think it matches the denim skirt really well.
I love the front pockets as well the back patch pockets, so definitely an entry for the #PocketParty challenge.
