When I first bought this pattern the fabric I ordered was too heavy so it never got used.
Fast forward 4 years and I saw the #minervaboiledwool /viscose and I decided it was time to give it a try. When it arrived I was so pleased I chose the ginger colour way.
Luckily there are a few blogs around of sewing with boiled wool which give many handy tips re needles and construction. I also googled pictures of the Bianca coat so I could see how other makers had finished theirs. The actual making proved very straightforward and quick. I chose to add a seam binding to the shoulder / neck for a clean finish using a piece of #atelierbrunettebinding . On all the edges I just did a double top stitch with #maraflexthread
The Sew me Something pattern didn't suggest it but I used a stitch in the ditch to keep the collar and cuffs in place.
The coat is enjoying it's first airing at the seaside, and is warm enough to keep me toasty even though it is still early February.
