LOVE, LOVE Love... my new #tansen top from #izzosewstudio in stretch cotton jersey. This one is called #bretonreverie and it is a breath of fresh air for the end of a stormy January.
I devoted January to making some wardrobe staples and really concentrated on solid colour fabrics with texture to keep my clothes pairing with each other but then I caved in and ended the month with a bit of reverie of my own.
I was a test sewer for Tansen and since then I have made a few but each time, I have let out the side seam a little more on each go to have a less fitted top. Today I really nailed it by taking out the waist shaping altogether and adding a little swing to the hemline. I lowered the under armscye by 1.5cm but didn't alter the sleeve and it was not as snug under my arms but teh sleeve still went in.
The last thing I did was an alteration I always tell people not to do where I moved the centre fold away from the edge by 2cm creating 4cm more ease across the bust, waist and hips and opening up the neckline a little. I added to the neckband to accomodate this. In this instance, it really worked well because I wanted the neckline to be more relaxed.
The star of the show is really the sleeves so as long as you get the body fit you want, you are still wearing Tansen if you have those goegeous sleeves. They have a ruffle and shirring and I was inspired to make this pattern and fabric pairing by the new series on #MinervaTV 'Elevate your wardrobe' by @BriMichelleMade Definitely worth a watch.
