Pattern: Minerva Evie Tunic

Fabric: Minerva Exclusive Floral Carousel Viscose Jersey

Meet the Evie Tunic - one of two brand new loungewear patterns from Minerva! Designed for relaxed comfort and easy everyday wear, this pull-on tunic is ideal for light to medium weight knit fabrics with some drape. I was delighted to test this size-inclusive pattern…it’s one of those quick, satisfying makes that slips easily into regular rotation, transitioning effortlessly from lounging at home to casual days out. Just what modern comfort dressing is all about.

The Evie Tunic combines simplicity with thoughtful design details that make it both a comfortable and flattering make:

- Modest neckline finished with a neat neckband

- ¾ length raglan sleeves

- Dropped armholes for a generous, easy fit across the bust

- Gently curved tunic-length hemline for subtle shaping and coverage

- Only four pattern pieces for a quick and satisfying sew

- Available in Minerva’s sizes A-J (B cup) and K-T (D cup)

Fabric choice: the Evie is designed for soft drapey knits - perfect for loungewear that feels as good as it looks. Fabrics like viscose jersey, bamboo jersey, modal jersey, ITY and stretch knit velvet are ideal choices. For my version, I used Minerva’s Exclusive Floral Carousel Viscose Jersey. This fabric is beautifully soft, breathable and fluid, with 80% stretch across the width and 60% lengthwise, combining a good balance of movement, comfort and recovery. And those vibrant bursts of pinks and blues on an inky black background add a welcome pop of colour to my everyday wardrobe.

Sizing and construction: I usually sew somewhere between a size L and M in Minerva’s patterns. This time, I decided to size down to a K after checking the finished garment measurements and stretch percentage of my fabric. There’s eleven inches of ease across the full bust in the larger size range, so sizing down gave me a comfortable but slightly neater fit which I prefer for my proportions. The instructions were clear and beginner-friendly, and the construction process was a breeze. I stitched most of my Evie on my overlocker, finishing the hems and neckband with my regular machine using a fresh ballpoint needle.

Final thoughts: the Evie Tunic is a super useful addition to Minerva’s pattern range - quick to sew and a great base for experimenting with prints, solids or colour blocking. And just as easy to wear, whether relaxing at home, running errands, doing the school run or meeting a friend for coffee.

Thanks again Minerva for letting me test your Evie Tunic pattern and thank you for reading.
