Every so often, a fabric and pattern come together so perfectly that the project practically sews itself — and that’s exactly how I felt making these pants!

For this make, I used Minerva’s Exclusive Forest Flashback Linen Viscose Blend POD Fabric with Simplicity 8056. I cut a size 28 with no adjustments, and I was blown away by how well the fit turned out right from the start. But truly, it’s the fabric that made these pants feel special.

This linen-viscose blend has such a beautiful balance of texture and flow. The linen gives it a natural, breathable quality that’s perfect for everyday wear, while the viscose adds softness and a lovely drape that elevates the overall look. It presses beautifully, sews smoothly, and feels light yet substantial — the kind of fabric you can wear comfortably all day.

The Forest Flashback print is what really caught my eye, though. The artistic brushstroke design gives these pants a sophisticated, nature-inspired feel. It’s bold without being overwhelming, and it turns what could have been a simple pair of pants into something truly eye-catching.

The only part that challenged me a bit was the fly front zipper — but that’s on me! I’ve only done one or two before, and it’s definitely a skill I need to practice. Even so, this project gave me the confidence I needed to make more pants for myself. The fit, the comfort, and the fabric all came together to make me feel proud of what I created, flaws and all!

If you’re looking for a fabric that offers both style and wearability, I can’t recommend this Linen Viscose Blend enough. It’s perfect for trousers, dresses, or even lightweight jackets — and I’m already dreaming up what I’ll make with it next!
