Fabric: Viscose Challis by Lady McElroy
Pattern: Be Mine Balloon Sleeve Top by Pattern Emporium
Hello Sewing Friends,
In my quest to increase the plain colours in my wardrobe, here is my second Be Mine top in a turquoise coloured viscose challis by Lady McElroy.
This fabric is 140cm wide, and is classed as light to medium weight at 110 GSM
As always the fabric was washed, air dried and pressed ready for cutting - there was no noticable shrinkage.
The top was sewn on the sewing machine using a universal 80 needle and Gutterman All Purpose thread and the seams were finished on the overlocker.
For this plain Be Mine I opted this time for pattern option of centre front and centre back seams with top stitching. Have to say this was a trickier execution than envisaged, as it required plenty of pressing and careful pinning to avoid/remove any puckering.
While I love this pattern with its wonderful balloon sleeves featuring this hi-low sleeve hemline, I do find this challis has a tendancy to crease more than some others. All Pattern Emporium patterns are PDF only.
Toffee has finally made her way into a photo - she has been trying for months, but I relented today!
Bye for now and happy sewing 😀
Anne
