Pattern Sizing: Russian 38-62. I sewed a size 40 in the shortest height.
Were the instructions easy to follow? They were extremely detailed and there were a lot of steps but the English translation combined with photos wasn't the best. I had some issues figuring out a few steps and had to wing it.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The style is very current and it's put together in a very polished and professional way. I love the front pocket details and that the jacket is fully lined.
Fabric Used: Minerva Core Range 6 Wale Stretch Woven Needlecord Fabric Dark Red. This fabric was tricky to work with because it kept wanting to shift under the machine. I did a single line of topstitching with normal thread instead of a double topstitching line as called for because the stitching gets lost in the wide wales.
I also used a tencel twill from my stash for the lining. In order to prevent fraying I serged all of the lining seams as I constructed it. It's holding up well so far.
The jacket ended up being quite heavy in weight, almost as heavy as a leather jacket.
Changes/alterations: I shortened the sleeves 2 inches but made no further sizing alterations.
Would you sew it again? Probably not. I don't think I need more than one of this style in my wardrobe and it took me a full 2 months to sew it. I would have to really be up for a challenge in order to make this one again.
Conclusion: I didn't really enjoy making this jacket but now that it's completed I do love the way it looks.
