Hello everyone from the Gold Coast, where things are starting to heat up again and we're looking towards another warm summer! I have needed a beach coverup for a while now - something that's light enough to wear in the heat but keeps the majority of the sun off. Enter this top!

Cotton Double Gauze meets that brief: it's light, not clingy and lets the breeze in. This is the tye Minerva Core Range Tie Dye Cotton Double Gauze Fabric in Bright Turquoise and I love the subtle tie dye effect which kind of accentuates the natural texture of the gauze.

It's also my favourite colour - it reminds me of floating in peaceful oceans in the Mediterranean🙂

The pattern I used is the Ritual Top and Dress from Swim Style Patterns. It comes together very easily and I love the slightly billowy sleeve and the relaxed fit. I cut a size Small in this pattern and made no adjustments. The fit really is lovely and I'm looking forward to making a dress version.

I'm wearing it here with my trusty Megan Nielsen Dawn shorts which I made about 5 years ago and still wear frequently!

I really recommend this beautiful double gauze fabric for a soft, comfortable, relaxed garment. It sews up with no trouble at all and was lovely to work with.
