For my latest Minerva project, I did something I haven't done before. I combined two patterns. I used Vogue 8847 for the dress and Butterick 6446 for the sleeves. And with that, that was the only change that was made to the pattern.

This Vogue pattern was released in 2012, so I've had it for quite some, but this is my first time making it. It's a pattern that's rated as "very easy" which it is. There are a couple of different collar options as well as hem options for views A and B.

The dress is a very loose fitting pullover style. Gathers mean that's there's a lot of design ease, which is another reason it's so comfortable to wear. Adding the belt keeps the dress from looking like a muumuu because it cinches in the waist. In-seam pockets are included as well.

Now for the fabric: it is a John Kaldor soft crepe fabric I was gifted by Minerva since I'm a Minerva brand ambassador. This crepe is 100% polyester, but it's lightweight. I'm hoping the change is sleeves helps to keep cool during spring and summer. I washed and dried this in the washer and dryer which worked out great. I was in cold water and dry on low heat.

Sewing the dress went well and there were no issues. I used a regular universal needle to construct the dress. I do like to use a tailor's clapper for holding down my hems and any seams that I want. I used my serger for the inside of the garment just to finish off the seams, which is what I normally do.

The fabric is very comfortable to wear and very vibrant in color. I think I'll get a lot of use out of this!
