I'm back with my latest dress! I love dresses and I make so many of them because as a child I wasn't really allowed to wear them. So here I am making all the dresses. I used this beautiful multi-color John Kaldor Viscose Challis to make the Seamwork Frankie dress. I totally love both the dress and this fabric for this make.

First, the fabric is beautiful, soft and flowy. The fabric is a light weight and drapey. The colors of the flowers are vibrant and fun. They're the perfect pick me up for winter! The fabric was easy to sew and did well and all of my machines including my serger. I love viscose challis but in a John Kaldor print, it's stunning and looks great any pattern.

I made the Seamwork Frankie in a variety of sizes. I made the front bodice in a 2 but the back was a 4 along with the skirt. The bodice was a bit tricky and I saw a few people with issues so it's best to make a muslin. I made and I am so glad I did because I was able to make some corrections to the chest and back. I added about 2 inches to the skirt length to make it longer but other than those changes to the pattern I didn't make any others.

The dress has a beautiful front detail with darts at the back to make it more fitted. Overall it's a pretty dress and the fabric related elevated the look. As I have mentioned before, viscose challis is my favorite fabric and this one did not disappoint.
