Hi,
I had the pleasure to work with Minerva’s core melange polycotton fleece back sweatshirt stretch knit fabric. Everything in that sentence says cosy and warm sewing to me...
My current go to knitted fabric book is the Tilly And The Buttons STRETCH and I made the Freya dress top with the cowl neck addition. I cropped the dress instead of going for the taper on the hips so I had the option to layer up underneath.
I made a size 4 in 1.6m of fabric and stitched using a 90 stretch needle. Read all about this soft and fluffy backed fabric in my previous post.
The only alteration to the pattern was to extend the sleeves so they were cosy over the wrist in length.
After wearing my Freya top on the coldest day of the winter, I can report back that it was amazing to wear and the cowl next doubled up as a scarf under my coat.
You could wear this with thick fluffy leggings for a snow day a denim skirt and gilet for a Spring day. Definitely a top that you will get a lot of snuggly wear from through the season.
I loved this pink but with more than 30 colours to choose, why not get a few and stock up for snuggle season?
Happy Sewing,
Samantha x
