It’s another repeat pattern make for me - my third Estelle dress - a fabulous pattern by Sew Over It.

I’ve made the Estelle in Minerva exclusive Viscose jersey fabrics. It’s my second time making the Estelle in this fabric range - it’s the perfect weighted fabric for this pattern.

The Estelle pattern is intended to be a midaxi dress (in between a midi and a maxi) with either version 1 being the straight skirt (with no slits) or version 2 being the slightly wider skirt with slide slits.

I made the Estelle in a size 10 at the bust and graded it to a size 12 at the waist and hips.

I followed the pattern as if making version 2 (with the slits) and lengthened the skirt by 15cm to make it a maxi (I’m 5ft5), and sewed it up as if making version 1 (without the slits).

I pre washed the fabric before cutting into it and used a rotary cutter to cut the pattern pieces - both with no issues.

I used regular thread (vs elasticated thread) and sewed the dress using a zig zag stitch before overlocking all of the raw edges.

I was previously gifted this pattern as a Sew Over It pattern insider before its official release, but with no obligation to make/share the pattern again.
