Hello fellow sewists,

I have finished my latest project for Minerva with the making of this Butterick 4463 jacket. This fabric, which was gifted to me by Minerva, is PERFECT for something like this. It is a medium to heavier weight woven fabric that will be great for the cooler temperatures we have now.

I did the best I could with the plaid matching (and I think I did a decent job). The pattern I used is an older pattern from 2005. These days it would be considered a shacket pattern. I have made this twice before and it always ends up being one of my favorites. In fact, I repurchased this pattern from a seller on Etsy because I needed a different size. I like that the design is very simple, so you can easily use a patterned fabric or a solid. It also works great in a springtime fabric as well.

This Minerva core range heavy polyester viscose suiting fabric is very easy to sew. I serged most of the inside edges. For those that I didn't serge, I used pinking shears to limit the fraying. The fabric washes and dries really well and mine had very few wrinkles when it came out of the dryer.
I used the darker part of the plaid for the covered buttons. I wanted them to blend in or "disappear" rather than match with the plaid.

Overall, I'm so happy I chose this fabric and this pattern to make from it. And I'm very happy with the results!
