Wow my first EVER coat! So I've been sewing for a few years now but for some reason or another I've never gotten round to making a coat. But when I saw MV-A931-Raspberry I knew exactly what I was going to make with it. When I received the fabric I was blown away by the thickness of it and extremely happy because I was unsure on what lining I was going to use. I knew I wanted to make the coat immediately but did not have any matching lining laying around at home, plus I was feeling pretty lazy (I'm sure we've all been there. However, due to the thickness I was happy to go without.

I knew the kind of coat I wanted to make so I used New Look 6476 and customised the neckline, sleeves and added a belt. Because the coat was made in hast and I just wanted to post lol I did not have time to add any pockets, but I will add front pockets later. The coat itself is a mix between a coat and a robe so I've named it a 'coat robe', feel free to help create a better name for it lol.

Again, due to the coat being made in hast, the neckline is not perfect on the inside. But the outside looks great, ha! Because the neckline and sleeves are folded it adds more warmth to the coat. I was thinking of making the coat a little shorter initially but I'm pretty happy with this length. I also added shoulder pads to give the coat better shape and a high end look.

Overall I'm very pleased with this make. The tweed fabric is easy to sew and fantastic quality! Can't wait to wear it out out :)
