I am very excited to be invited to be the brand ambassador for Minerva. This is my first make as an ambassador and am thankful to Minerva for this opportunity.

When I chose this fabric, my initial plans for this was to make joggers, but when I received this fabric, I changed my mind because the fabric was super soft and cozy and preferred to have it draped over my shoulders. My 2 year old grand daughter was ready to cuddle with it as soon as she felt it. She has always loved soft cuddly teddys and blankets so this felt very similar to her I’m sure 😃.

So while I was thinking of what I should be making with it, I threw it in the washer and dried it on low heat. It did shrink a little. I would have made a robe to lounge in, if I had sufficient fabric. I had limited options, after going through my patterns, I finally decided to make the Halifax Hoodie (View E). I knew I would love wearing it in the winter when walking my dog or just when

I used the serger for my side seams and the sleeves. I did have trouble at the underarm seam with the additional layers. So I decided to switch to a regular sewing machine. I chose a narrow zigzag (1.5 width x 2 stitch length) for the collar, the hem band and sleeve band since the layers were too bulky. I chose to add a piping as an accent for the side seam by cutting a 1 inch strip, folded it and sandwiched it in between the back and front and sewed it together with the recommended 3/8th inch seam allowance. I chose to skip the drawstring for the collar. It was a fairly quick sew. I definitely love the feel of it and I know I will be wearing it a lot when the temperature drops.
