My latest project for Minerva was made with this pleated plisse stretch knit fabric. It is a lightweight-medium weight fabric that is perfect for layering. The pattern I used for this turtleneck is called the Trudy Turtleneck from Wardrobe By Me.
This top is super easy and fast to make. I used my serger (4 thread) to make this in about an hour. For the hem I used a double needle. This is one of my favorite patterns. It has variations for sleeve and sleeveless, as well as neck options.
The fabric is soft and washes and dries really well. I don't believe there was any shrinkage of the fabric. And I do believe that it got softer after I washed it! As you can see, I did a decent job of matching the stripes, although it's not perfect. Perfection can be overrated 😂.
I'm very happy with the results, and the mix of colors will give this turtleneck a lot of versatility.
