For this top, I used McCall's 6963. I made View B with 3/4 sleeves. I wanted to use a pattern that has few details that could really show off this fabric. This gorgeous green is a sequined stretch velvet. It washes well (always a concern for me) and was very easy to sew.
Initially I was concerned about how this would be to actually sew, but there were no worries. The sequins are more like dots that the sewing machine can go through. Because this is a stretch velvet, I made sure to cut out all the pattern pieces in the same direction. That's something to be mindful of with a fabric that has a nap.
For the actual construction, I used a zigzag stitch. I didn't even use a double needle to hem which is something I would normally do with any other knit fabric.
The pattern is super easy to sew. I did make a FBA (full bust adjustment). I think that I will increase the FBA to 1.5"-2" next time (this one is about 1"). I made this in about 2 hours, so it's also a very quick make. And this fabric is definitely party ready!
