I always love to sew with beautiful, fun printed fabric and this was no exception. I got this Art Gallery Cotton Poplin for my May Minerva make. It features a green palm print that just screams "SUMMER" to me!

Since I really wanted to showcase the fabric, I chose a pattern that didn't have a lot of design details. I used Simplicity 8920 which allows the fabric to be the star of this production.

The fabric itself is lightweight so it's great for summer tops. I made no changes to the pattern (I made View D). The top is a woven pullover so it's great for beginners as well as experienced sewists.

I watched the video on the Minerva site of the fabric designer who is located in Florida. I definitely get a beach vibe from this fabric. It could also be used for craft projects (fabric covered accessories, masks, quilting, etc.). Even a summer romper, shorts or button-front shirt would be great. I love using fun prints that just make me happy when I see them hanging in my closet, especially for my summer wardrobe.

For the buttons on the sleeves of the top, I used some star buttons that I've had in my stash for years. I can highly recommend the fabric and this pattern. The fabric washes and dries great as well.
