You know when you start planning a project for the new year despite already having a lot on your plate? That’s maybe possibly potentially what I’m doing right now!
For ages I’ve loved boiler suits and flight suits and the Closet Core Patterns Blanca pattern is absolutely perfect. However, I’m a solid plus size maker. I don’t fit in most popular patterns, and this one was no exception.
Until I posted in the Curvy Sewing Collective Facebook group to ask if anyone could recommend similar but bigger, and someone kindly replied ‘did you know if you get the PDF pattern as opposed to the paper one it goes up to a size 30?’ - and no, I did not know this! My partner even asked if I was okay or if something had happened, I was so widely beaming at my laptop.
I think a twill might be what I want to use, but I also love linen. I’ve just ordered a bunch of fabric samples as pictured above so that I can start making more solid plans. It’s not like I’ve got anything else to be working on... like my Hepburn top, or my gosh darn wedding dress...
